Design efficiently for Humanity
Talking about a big idea but concentrating on one process
Steps to conduct research:
Base of Research – not yet finalised (work in progress)
Specifying the purpose of research
Determine specific research questions or hypothesis
Data collection
Analyzing and interpreting the data
Reporting and evaluating research
Context of Research - Social and Political
What is the purpose of research?
My research is to establish or confirm facts, reaffirm the results of previous work and solve new or existing problems. My secondary objective is to understand Concepts, ideas and approach used in construction.
My initial research proposal was a little too broad. My research was condensed to 3 Question.
A) Regional Modernism - How practices learn and adapt to local resources and also traditions?
B) How working in poorer regions can be a laboratory for new form of inhabitation & construction?
C) Document the processes of a particular project of works in a focused region of the world
Adaptability
Once you have designed something an architect should visit the building back to see whether people are happy
An evaluation/measure on what good design is.
The impact of technology breaks it down into
The technology used in the design process
Technology used in the fabrication process
Technology used in the experience/user interaction with environment
Foreign Aid
“Afghanistan is the UK’s top foreign policy priority” according to our government and with such a high influx of money being spent on rebuilding Afghanistan why has their not been a visual change in the transport infrastructure and living conditions. This directly implies to Iraq, Somalia, Uganda, Rwanda, Eritrea and Seirra Leone.
